Starting immediately, the City of Northfield is providing up to five free KN95 masks for each person. Individuals can pick up masks for themselves and members of their household at the Northfield Public Library or the Northfield Police Department. No identification is required.
Additionally, local businesses can pick up masks to provide for their customers and patrons. Businesses can pick up masks at the Northfield Chamber of Commerce.
“The importance of masking at this time is very apparent and important to many in our community,” said Mark Elliott, Northfield chief of police. Wearing a high-quality mask like the KN95 helps to limit the spread of COVID-19, including variants like Omicron.
Both the Minnesota Department of Health and the Centers for Disease Control recommend all individuals, vaccinated and unvaccinated, wear a well-fitted mask over your nose and mouth in public indoor settings.
In addition to masking, the best way to keep your family and friends safe is to get vaccinated if you are eligible.
