I had the pleasure to speak with Randy Yoder from Buji ActionCOACH on August 11th, 2025. He explained how he worked at Ace Hardware for 25 years then eventually arrived at Buji ActionCOACH, which came to him as an invite, and now emphasizes how it is the best position of his life. Upcoming in September, it will mark his 4th anniversary.
Randy explained the three significant components of business are time, people, and money. When all these aspects collaborate optimally together, it leads to successful businesses and organizations. Also, Randy mentioned that in his job of promoting business development and productivity, he values the skills of listening, asking questions, building relationships, communicating, and business foundations. With his education, Randy earned a bachelor's degree with a social work major and a business minor. He also has experience with project management and sales with a background working in family businesses.
In the business title Buji ActionCOACH, Buji means of high quality which emphasizes the company’s goal of coaching businesses to aim for quality, success, and outcomes. Additionally, Randy highlighted how he enjoys mostly everything the role has to offer, and some favorite parts are to encourage people and to be a part of other’s success. When clients experience success, he defines himself as successful. Randy helps to improve the chance that business owners are in complete control of their business not the business controlling the owner.
While complete business management is the goal, he acknowledged that one of the greatest challenges is seeing the full potential of clients but clients not thriving to reach that potential. It is also difficult for managers to let go of certain parts of their job and to give roles to other employees. Helping to reduce business control on one individual divides workload evenly which helps minimize stress and burnout. Randy mentioned that his least favorite part of the job is to watch clients burnout especially when the burnout is avoidable.
When working for Buji ActionCOACH, he loves helping, encouraging, and seeing others successful; also, he adds it fits his personality. What he wished he would have learned sooner is that coaching is beyond sports and applies to business for heightened productivity and success. Even though he started this job later in his career, Randy has no regrets because his prior work experience generates foundation which helps with the work today.
