Member Spotlight: Corbett Chiropractic & Health Enhancement

Since opening in 1995, Corbett Chiropractic & Health Enhancement has been a trusted part of the Northfield community. Led by Dr. Dan Corbett, the clinic’s mission is simple: “Becoming whole again”. “I help patients get pain relief and try to inspire them towards wellness.”

Dr. Corbett earned his Doctorate from Northwest Health Sciences University in 1993 and soon after opened his practice in Northfield. His path to chiropractic care began in a personal way—after a water-skiing accident left him with severe neck pain, he found relief through chiropractic treatment. The experience inspired him to pursue the profession himself, even shadowing chiropractors before committing to the field.

Over the years, Dr. Corbett has continued to grow his expertise. He became certified in Chiropractic Spinal Trauma in 1999, and in recent years has focused on Spinal disc bulges and DOT examinations and drug testing, which has been a major part of his work. While he enjoys expanding his professional skills, his favorite part of the job remains the same: helping patients find relief through adjustments and seeing their results.

The clinic has served patients from three different locations in Northfield—first in the strip mall near El Tequila Restaurant, then in the Community Resource Bank Building, and now at its current home at 423 Division Street South.
Behind the scenes, Nancy Swenson has been a vital part of the practice since 2000. Known for her dedication and energy, she keeps the clinic running smoothly and continues to enjoy being active and engaged in her work.

Like many small businesses, Corbett Chiropractic has seen changes over the years. Patients today often use the internet and YouTube to learn about treatments, and changes in insurance have shaped the way care is delivered. Dr. Corbett admits that managing the business side—hiring, HR, and paperwork—can be challenging, but the rewards of helping patients far outweigh the challenges.

Looking ahead, Dr. Corbett plans to expand the clinic’s online presence and update its website, ensuring patients can access clear and reliable information. He believes that two skills remain most critical to success in his profession: having the skills to deliver comfortable spinal adjustments and effectively communicate with patients.

Reflecting on community partnerships, Dr. Corbett praised the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce for promoting grants during the COVID-19 pandemic and for maintaining a strong, positive presence in the community.

For nearly 30 years, Dr. Dan Corbett and Corbett Chiropractic & Health Enhancement have been dedicated to improving lives in Northfield—one adjustment at a time.
