WorkForce Made in Northfield Tour
On March 19, 2024 I had the pleasure of talking with Rich Larson on KYMN Radio, alongside Kimberly Purscell from WorkForce Development, Inc and Mark Endsrud, one of the amazing high school counselors. We discussed workforce in the area and what graduating students can expect.
In an era where career options are expanding beyond traditional academic paths, the Northfield Chamber of Commerce, in collaboration with the local high school and WorkForce Development, Inc., is creating a groundbreaking initiative. Together, they are fostering a relationship aimed at empowering high school juniors and seniors with a comprehensive understanding of career opportunities available right in their community.
Through a series of local tours, students are being exposed to various industries, including manufacturing, banking, auto mechanics, law enforcement, and more. These tours serve as eye-opening experiences, shedding light on the variety of career paths accessible without the necessity of a college degree.
This collaboration is bridging the gap between education and workforce readiness. By providing firsthand exposure to diverse industries, students are equipped with valuable insights into potential career trajectories, enabling them to make informed decisions about their future.
