NORTHFIELD, MN (August 27, 2019) –The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism held their Inaugural Membership Appreciation Picnic at Riverside Lions Park Pavilion on Tuesday afternoon.

Over 160 members enjoyed a lunch of hot dogs, fried chicken, chips, cookies and more.  “We were delighted with the turn-out!” said Lisa Peterson, President of the Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism. “This is just a small way we can say ‘Thank You’ to our members who give so much to our organization throughout the year.  Whether they donate, sponsor or give their time and talent, it takes many people to accomplish all of the events and activities we produce each year.  We are thankful that our members are so willing to help out.  Each and every event we host solidifies my excitement for this organization and our community.  We have an amazing business community who is invested and generous and willing to do what it takes to make our city a better place to live, work and play. We’d like to thank Just Food Co-op for their generous donation of hot dogs and the American Red Cross for donating the ketchup.  Also thank you to Quarterback Club, Family Fare, the Defeat of Jesse James Days Ambassadors and all of the Chamber Ambassadors.  Without all of you, this picnic would not have been successful.”

The Chamber plans to make the picnic an annual event.  The event was an “open-house” where member businesses could come when it worked for them.  “We wanted to make sure that everyone who wanted to, was able to at least come and grab a quick lunch” said Jane Bartho, Director of Membership and Events.  “It was great to have the chance to talk to so many of our members and give them the opportunity to network in a fun and casual way.”
