NORTHFIELD CHAMBER OF COMMERCE ANNOUNCES 2022 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR, BUSINESSPERSON OF THE YEAR AND CHAMBER AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR.
2022 BUSINESS OF THE YEAR
The Northfield Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce that Just Food Co-op has been named as “2022 Business of the Year.” This award recognizes a business in the Northfield area that has Chamber and community involvement/contributions, along with expansion or business growth, renovation or redevelopment, new job creation, new employer and or facility, and has not been selected in the past ten years.
“Just Food Co-op are huge supporters of the community and of the Chamber.” Said Chamber President Lisa Peterson. “They have had continuous growth over the last 10 years and provide high quality service to the entire community. Most recently, they have doubled the size of their store and added many new employees. They are very generous with donations of food, time, and talent with many organizations in the community. We are excited and honored to name them as our 2022 Business of the Year!”

2022 BUSINESSPERSON OF THE YEAR – The Chamber also recognizes an individual as “Businessperson of the Year” for contributions/involvement to the Chamber, along with community/civic involvement and activities that improve the local business community.
Tanya Mollenhauer of The James Gang Coffeehouse & Eatery has been selected as “2022 Businessperson of the Year”. “Tanya is an excellent owner” said nominator Libby Potter. “She cares for her staff like family and treats every customer like they are friends who stop by and see her.” Tanya is hardworking, joyous and caring of every single person she meets. Not only does she run an incredible business, but she is also very family oriented and spends a lot of time helping at her church.” Said nominator Sophia Schewe. “Tanya is so deserving of this honor” Said Chamber President Lisa Peterson, “She is kind, caring and compassionate. She truly cares for her staff and her customers. She serves on the Convention & Visitors Bureau Advisory Board and works with many community members to help bring visitors to town and make them feel welcome. I am so pleased she was chosen by the committee as the 2022 Businessperson of the Year!”
James Gang Coffeehouse and Eatery has been part of the Northfield community for over 10 years. They are known for their delicious salads & sandwiches, organic coffee, espresso, and homemade baked goods.
2021 AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR – Ambassadors are Chamber volunteers who actively promote the Chamber through attendance at events and specific activities. Their goal is to improve the Chamber member relations and retention.
Victoria Davis of the Northfield News has been selected as the “2022 Ambassador of the Year”. “Victoria is a great asset to the Chamber” said Jane Bartho, Director of Membership & Events at the Chamber. “She has attended nearly every Chamber event, helped emcee events and has hosted business afterhours and morning business brews. She’s always willing to lend a hand whenever we need help.”
Victoria Davis is a Multi Media Account Executive with the Northfield News since 2020. She is responsible for selling print and digital advertising solutions to community businesses throughout Northfield and Dundas.
The Chamber Business Awards and Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at Armory Square Event Center. More details to follow.
