Kevin Korbel and Jamieson Lindquist, who both live in rural Lonsdale, have come a long way since they originally tried making ice cream. Today, the pair are co-owners of Udder Buddies, a new business that sells vanilla ice cream & CBD ice cream …but more flavors are to be expected in the near future!
CBD is a non-psychoactive chemical derived from hemp, meaning it does not give the user any sort of high typically associated with marijuana-derived products. Some studies suggest it may to help people with a number of medical conditions, ranging from anxiety to seizures.
While others in Minnesota have “dabbled” in CBD-infused ice cream, Korbel said they are the first in the state to mass produce the product.
Since cannabinoids bind with fat molecules, the CBD blends perfectly with the ice cream.
Their ice cream is manufactured at the U of M's Pilot Plant!
You can find Udder Buddies Ice Cream in the three locations they are partnering with to sell their ice cream, including Next Chapter Winery in New Prague, Ziggy’s convenience store in Northfield and Mousse Sparkling Wine Co. in Jordan.
